The primary purpose of this role is to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. Warehouse worker responsibilities include storing materials, assembly line activities, picking, packing, scanning orders, and shipping. Warehouse workers’ responsibilities at this level include deeper knowledge in performing administrative activities and machine driving safety knowledge and execution. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction, while adhering to all company and department Policies, Procedures and Processes.

Responsibilities: 

 
  • Material Handling Equipment Operations
    • Able to operate the following powered machines:
      • Pallet jack
      • Pallet stacker
      • Rider jack
      • Counterbalance
      • Reach truck
      • Turret truck
    • Inbound tasks
      • Support the validation receiving processes in the Production Department.
      • Unload trucks and check in merchandise manually or with RF devices.
      • Count inventory items, and record data manually or using a computer.
      • Reconcile counts of kitting components and transfers.
      • Sort and put away materials or items on racks, shelves or bins according to organizational standards.
      • Open boxes, bales, crates and other containers.
      • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to Lead/Supervisor/Inventory Control.
      • Communicate item adjustment needs to Lead/Supervisor/Inventory Control.
      • Communicate missing inventory from expected receipts to Lead/Supervisor.
    • Outbound tasks
      • Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pull materials; packing boxes; place orders in delivery area
      • Palletize parcels accurately considering carrier, destination, pallet type and box type.
      • Comply with Routing Guides stipulated by Customers.
      • Loading shipments onto trucks.
      • Use Carrier software to properly process Hazmat parcels.
      • Generate necessary paperwork for shipments (Commercial Invoices, Bill of Lading, Carrier Manifests, Hazmat Documentation, Customs Forms, etc.) to hand over to drivers for pickup.
  • Pick & Pack
    • Pick customer orders using an RF scanner.
    • Pack orders quickly, securely and efficiently using a computer and a swipe scanner.              
    • Prepare orders using correct packaging for all brands.
    • Prepare orders following department priorities.
    • Reports out of stock items and/or batch inaccuracies or any other issue that could affect the operation flow.
    • Comply with Routing Guides stipulated by Customers.
    • Report on damages to Supervisor/Inventory Control.
    • Report incorrect item dimensions to Supervisor/Inventory Control.
    • Select the appropriate carrier and shipping label.
    • Troubleshoot order issues.
  • Basic Material Handling
    • Assist the department with the movement of materials in and out of the work area based on the workflow.
    • Use manual pallets jacks and powered pallet jacks (if trained) to move heavier loads.
    • As instructed, perform carton labeling, pallet stacking, pallet labeling, and/or any combination of activities associated with the department needs.
    • Maintain all warehouse tools, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Facilities
    • Assist with the disposal of trash, recycling, cardboard, plastic, etc as needed.
    • Assist with the cleanliness and maintenance of all office equipment and areas.
    • If trained, use the mechanized scrubber as determined by Management.
    • If trained, use the baler and/or compactor.
    • Miscellaneous maintenance of light bulbs, moving furniture, and small projects.
  • Kitting / VAS
    • Load and unload items from pallets, conveyors, and/or tables.
    • Fold, open, build, and/or handle different types of packaging materials such as tissue paper, corrugated boxes, gift boxes, pouches, and/or poly bags.
    • Place items inside kits following quality standards.
    • Place finished products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.
    • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
    • Take instructions from an Area Lead who works under the direction of the Department Supervisor.
  • Safety, Security and Housekeeping
    • Practice safety policies and provide direct feedback to the supervisor as needed.
    • Always wear proper PPE.
    • Understand building security procedures.
    • Ensure the work area meets the NADC cleanliness and organization standards.
  • Provide support to the DC Operation when necessary.
  • Any other responsibility can be added to this role as per management discretion.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Team Player able to work with others for a common goal.
  • Able to work independently and follow detailed directions.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.
  • Good communication, organizational, time management, and mathematical skills
  • Dependable and Reliable
  • Identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events. 
  • Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
  • Applications (WMS) knowledge – intermediate level.
  • Ability to work with a touch screen RF device.
