SUMMARY 

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn the ins and outs of a fast-paced HR environment. As our HR intern, you'll partner with us on day-to-day tasks including designing and implementing new and existing HR processes, supporting onboarding/offboarding activities when required, and assisting with employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment. 

You'll gain exposure to the operational side of a small HR department within a growing beauty brand that prioritizes people and wellness. We’re looking for someone who is eager to roll up their sleeves and contribute wherever needed—this role will involve managing critical administrative duties and handling impromptu assignments that support the broader goals and initiatives of the ELEMIS HR team. 

Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to strengthen your communication skills through collaboration with employees and managers across the business. 

Please note that this role will be fully in-person for 20 hours/week. Pay will be $19/hour for Bachelor's students/grads, and $21/hour for Master's students/grads.
 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Intern Program Support: 

  • Assist in organizing and preparing meetings and events for the intern program. 

  • Communicate with managers and supervisors to coordinate intern schedules and activities. 

  • Provide administrative support, including maintaining intern records, preparing materials, and handling logistics. 

  • Participate in the onboarding and orientation process for new interns. 

Social Committee Support: 

  • Collaborate with the Social Committee to plan and execute employee engagement events and activities. 

  • Schedule and coordinate logistics for various social events and employee activities. 

  • Develop creative and engaging events that promote a positive workplace culture. 

  • Create and distribute surveys to gather employee feedback on engagement initiatives. 

HR Administrative Support: 

  • Assist with general HR administrative tasks, including maintaining and organizing employee files and records. 

  • Support the HR team with data entry, document preparation, and filing. 

  • Help in the preparation of HR reports and presentations. 

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of HR policies and procedures. 

  • Additional tasks as assigned.

  • Ensure all duties carried out and actions completed in every aspect of your role, contribute to the short and long-term Sustainability Goals set-forth by the ELEMIS - Climate, Biodiversity & People Pillars 
     

QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s / master’s degree in human resources or related field. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.  

  • Curiosity of human resource principles, practices, and procedures. 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Open to learning by increasing own efficiency, initiate courses of action and willingly take on new responsibilities. 

  • Interest in providing excellent employee experience and bringing life to company culture. 

  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance, and ability to understand the importance of information and activities that are confidential to the Company. 

  • Ability to adjust to work processes or procedures, adapt to others and work effectively and in a positive manner when under pressure or in ambiguous situations. 

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Keen interest in the Beauty industry. 

  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
