ELEMIS - US Creative Lead (Temporary - 6 Months)

SUMMARY

As the Creative Lead, you will manage a team of two in-house designers along with freelance design and photography resources. You will oversee all creative processes, including project delegation, creative briefing, photography coordination, and the effective use of internal and external partners.

You will work closely with the Project Manager to align on timelines and deliverables, and must bring strong project management experience to ensure deadlines are met and workflows run smoothly.


In close partnership with the Copywriter, you will lead the development of creative assets for the US market—ensuring alignment with brand standards and channel requirements. You will adapt global assets to meet US-specific needs and translate marketing and branding strategies into innovative, high-impact campaigns that engage target audiences.

Please note that this role will be a 6-month contract working on a full-time schedule (Monday-Friday), with a pay rate of $70-85 per hour, based on the candidate's experience. This position will be hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 day remote).
 
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Lead the concept, design, and execution of creative assets for the US market across digital, print, retail, and experiential channels. Including but not limited to:
    • Social Media Content
    • Digital marketing (email, banners, paid media assets)
    • Print collateral (influencer mailers, secondary packaging, flyers)
    • Badges/icons, onsite assets for GWPs, promotions, and landing pages.
    • In-store event materials
  • Produce mockups, storyboards, and roughs to visualize ideas, taking work from concept to final delivery within deadlines.
  • Manage and mentor a team of two in-house designers, plus freelance design and photography resources.
  • Provide clear creative direction, feedback, and professional development to team members.
  • Partner closely with the Project Manager to plan timelines, allocate resources, and ensure smooth workflow across all creative projects.
  • Present creative work to Marketing and Leadership teams to get feedback and approvals on concept and tactics.
  • Collaborate daily with the Design Team, Copywriter, and Marketing team to align on brand positioning, messaging, and channel needs.
  • Understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning, and target audience.
  • Stay ahead of creative trends, industry best practices, and emerging tools/technologies to keep brand output fresh and competitive.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
  • 6+ years of proven working experience.
  • Demonstrate exceptional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite tools, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat, to create outstanding visuals and assets.
  • Have strong planning and organizational skills with a sharp attention to detail, enabling you to execute projects with precision and efficiency.
  • Showcase expertise in creating printed assets.
  • Be adept at handling the creation of dotcom assets from A to Z, ensuring a smooth and cohesive process.
  • Possess a proactive, “roll-up your sleeves” entrepreneurial attitude, where no task is too small or big, displaying a readiness to take on challenges and explore new opportunities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working cross-functionally within an omnichannel brand – online and offline marketing channels.
  • Understanding and interest of the US beauty market and brand competitor set.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
