JOB SUMMARY:

The District Manager motivates and inspires the Boutique Management teams to create an environment that ensures an exceptional customer experience according to L’Occitane standards. He/she manages the day-to-day operations within a specific market of multiple stores, which includes recruitment, development, performance management and retention of top talent, compliance towards safety standards, inventory levels and shrinkage monitoring, labor hours efficiency, marketing and commercial campaigns implementation within their assigned market.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive Sales, profitability and best in class customer experience
    • Develop and lead the execution of the district business plan to drive Omni channel sales results and key performance indicators
    • Conduct effective and regular stores visits (virtual in and in person) with an emphasis on the internal and external customer experience, while interacting with the customer on the sales floor and observing selling behaviors
    • Drive customer loyalty and new customer recruitment by creating an inspiring and engaging customer experience
    • Lead with an entrepreneurial spirit that inspires out of the box thinking and shop owner mentality to impact business results
    • Knows and manages the business through effective use of all sales and financial reports
    • Act as a liaison between the Store team and the Support Center by providing insights and feedback to enable sales growth and revenue generating ideas
  • Recruit, onboard and train retail Top Talent within out Boutique staff
    • Execute and support L’Occitane’s talent strategy  including consistent networking, recruitment and succession planning, while mentoring and developing internal talent
    • Act as a coach to the store managers and as a resource to each store employee to help inspire the success of each store
    • Ensure that all teams are trained according to L’Occitane selling standards, product knowledge, Company guidelines and adhere to Company standards of integrity and ethics
  • Demonstrate high level of Leadership
    • Takes personal accountability for delivering results
    • Foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration within District and across all departments
    • Lead with honesty, integrity, humility and demonstrates the L’Occitane core values
    • Prioritize store performance issues, and immediately address any lapses in compliance with corporate policies or local, state and federal laws or loss of store profitability

  • Oversee Merchandising and Operations
    • Achieve Company controllable business objectives including: sales, profitability, shrink, payroll, and schedule review to ensure labor hours don’t outpace sales within their assigned stores
    • Achieve proper standards of safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and organization in all stores
    • Undertake responsibility for all store openings, re-opening of renovations and closing of all retail locations within the market.  Additionally, partner with related departments, to implement plans for opening promotions, recruitment and training
    • Responsible for ensuring the execution of all company visual and operational standards in order to provide an exceptional customer experience environment
  • All other duties or projects as assigned

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

Sales performance, conversion, customer recruitment/retention, employee retention, time to fill, payroll hour distribution and control management, inventory management

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree or similar work experience in retail business field

EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of progressive retail experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading Boutiques Management staff
  • Multi-unit retail experience and/or equivalent sales volume management experience required

SKILLS

  • Strong business acumen
  • Bilingualism Required: Excellent communication skills in both French and English (written and verbal) as the District Manager will be overseeing stores including but not limited to Quebec
  • Proven ability of delivering results through a high performing team of leaders
  • Proven record of people development and succession planning
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills (Retail POS software and MS Office)

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work up to 8+ hours per day and be on his/her feet for extended amounts of time
  • Must be able to travel nationally up to 75% of the time
  • Valid Driver’s License required
