SUMMARY 

Deliver a professional and proactive HR service by acting as a business partner to Managers and Senior Leadership Team, providing effective and pragmatic HR solutions that support and enable the successful achievement of Elemis’ business strategy goals aligned to its mission, vision and values.  

The role requires a high level of confidentiality, efficiency, effectiveness, diplomacy, pragmatism, accuracy, and organization, all to be conducted in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.   

ESSENTIAL REPONSIBILITIES 

People Management 

  • Lead, motivate and develop key members of the HR team, to achieve the department objectives and to ensure high quality and professional service is provided to all employees and managers.  

Recruitment  

  • Work with Line Managers and Commercial Finance to determine recruitment requirements for replacement and new vacancies. Challenge the status quo to ensure recruitment is required and what are the key skills, capabilities and attributes for future. 

  • Ensure all Job Descriptions in your areas are reviewed and relevant to the role.  

  • Work to manage recruitment for your divisions to attract, retain and develop talent whilst maintaining compliance with employment legislation and best practice and promoting diversity and inclusion.  

  • Lead briefing calls for any recruitment requirements with Line Managers including any other key stakeholders as required. 

  • Manage career developments and succession planning. 

  • Oversee management of consultants. 

Immersion Process 

  • Ensure all team members have a WOW experience when joining ELEMIS. 

  • Provide guidance and coaching to Line Managers to ensure immersive experience for all new joiners prior to joining and for the first 90 days with the business. 

Employee Leaving Process 

  • Create a meaningful process for any leavers. Review resignation letters and address any potential grievance situations, informing key stakeholders of any concerns. 

  • Analyze data from exit interviews and provide regular reports to leadership on attrition rationale including recommendations for continuous improvement.  

Job Changes/Adjustments 

  • Be an integral part of reviewing and discussing job changes/adjustments in your client groups with the Heads of Department and Finance Director. Challenge the business to ensure the headcount and costs are considered throughout.  

  • Once changes are approved, ensure that all job changes are issued with relevant contracts in a timely manner.  

Human Resources Information System (HRIS) 

  • Continuously maintain and seek improvements to HRIS with a view to increasing efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. 

  • Create and analyze HR metrics and provide findings from reports as required to support management decision making. 

Employee Relations 

  • Oversee all Employee Relations issues, ensuring issues are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.  

  • Provide detailed advice to all Managers on complex Employee Relations issues including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, capability, etc. adhering to the Company's policies and procedures and current legislation.  Update the President and Global Hr Director as required 

  • Management of organization restructures and terminations in line with legislation and company process to avoid business risk.  

  • Process work permits / visa sponsorships as requested. 

L&D and Engagement 

  • Provide coaching and development to managers through one-to-one and group sessions. 

  • Ensure management are informed and appropriately trained in all policies and procedures. 

  • Work with the larger HR team to implement employee engagement survey, analyzing data and provide feedback to the Heads of in your client group, with the view to improving existing engagement and culture to help attract and retain talent.  

  • Arrange training courses as requested (in-house and external). 

  • Actively promote employee engagement initiatives and assist in fostering a positive work environment. 

HR Development 

  • Assist on the design and/or delivery of key projects in line with department objectives, organizational changes, and continual improvement initiatives with the aim of achieving alignment and effective communication of key HR priorities.  

  • Continuously seek improvements to working practices and procedures with a view to increasing efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS 

  • Proactive and can-do approach – thriving with a growth mindset. 

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or PHR certification preferred. 

  • Transformative approach to change. 

  • HR experience in Retail or CPG companies with high levels of change and pace. 

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex HR issues. 

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills. 

  • Ability to multi-task but work using own initiative. 

  • High attention to detail and accuracy whilst working with high volumes and tight deadlines. 

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written. 

  • Strong relationship skills and ability to influence at all levels. 

  • Proven ability to handle employee relations issues with tact and discretion. 

  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices. 

  • Proficiency in HR-related software. 

  • Proficient in MS Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
